Is my timing off - or am I being anal? (with pics)
I finally got a nice set of gsr cams so I went to install them and my t-belt today.
My set up is:
B16 block - resurfaced
b17 head - resurfaced
b16/b18c5 water pump
99-00 si lower timing cog
Golden Eagle Adj. Cam gears
new OEM honda b16 belt
new OEM honda tensioner
I've had the belt on and off 3 times now and I keep getting the same results. Its off less than half a tooth.
If I line up the lower mark the cams are off slightly:

And if I line the cam marks up the lower gear is slightly off:

If I take some of the slack out of the front of the belt when the cam gears are lined up it seems to fix my problem. I plan to get a Endyn belt tensioner that bolts to the front of the motor, so I guess that may fix my problem.
Could this be happening because my block and head are resurfaced? The head was done by Laskey and the block was done by a local machine shop - Speed Equipment.

Too ****. You have to realize that the mark on the oil pump is cast into the housing, some tolerance is allowed.
Good post with the photos, makes it very easy to understand.

Yeah -- not that it's a big difference. Of course you've got adjustable cam gears, so as long as the belt is tensioned properly it's something you can fix easily enough.
