Default 00 em1 - planning b20 vtec swap and have TN emissions questions

ok so recently i traded off my 1996 hx coupe(perfect running conditon)for a 00 em1 with a jdm b16a in it, BUT it needs to be rebuilt/new motor, my real concerns for this build is for everything to be emmisons friendly, i have done all kinds of swaps before so wrench turning is not a probablem for me its just that i now live in a county that requires me to take my cars through MARTA/emmisons testing everytime i need to renew my tags, so therefor i need to be able to i guess run the stock ecu and have no mil lights.
my questions for you guys, and please only respond if you know what the H you are talking about, i dont need any help guessing at what might work, i know i could rebuild it back to stock but i am toying with the idea of building a b20 vtec and i have read some forums and talked to people and everyone has told me that i cant run the p2t(99-00 si ecu) on a b20vtec motor and pass emmisons, so if anyone has had to deal with this before please post up your experience and let me know what you built and how you got through the dreaded emmisons testing.
thanks

Why don't you check the MARTA/emissions regs DIRECTLY on this to make sure instead of relying on hearsay from a forum?

im pretty sure marta/emissions regulations are not gonna tell me what sensors i might need to have or what i might need to change over to make a b20 vtec work to there specifications, what im needing is someone who has done this to there car and what they have to do everytime they get there car tested with emmisons

Maybe it would help to ask these question of a tech who works at an emissions station. Just a thought.

i work at a car dealership and i frequently have to run to the emmison station taking new cars through for buying customers and i have asked them what all they look for when they do the test and they really dont know squat, they just hook up the scanner to the car hit some buttons and tell you wether it passed or not

It sounds like all of your focus should be on a scan tool being able to communicate with the ECU and there being no CEL codes thrown. If you can accomplish this with your B20 swap, then you're good to go.

yes i understand that, but before i build the motor i want to hear from someone who has done this build and managed to go through emmisions
