98 Civic LX -- auto tranny compatibility?

hey i have a 98 lx with a d16y7, transmission is going out and i need a replacement, can i only use the lx tranny?

No any 96-00 transmission will drop right

94EG8 has said that installing an EX transmission may throw a transmission code.
