Default suspension question

Does anyone know if the Tokico HP shocks are any good. My friend has some that have never been used and I am considering them. Just want to get some info on them before I buy. Thx in advance.

Not very many people talk very highly about them. From what I understad, they pretty much suck unless you only have like 1" drop.

I heard the same thing....funny though, I have a set of the tokico hp's on my car and I've had them for about 5 years now with skunk coilovers and the shocks are still pretty good (i checked them 2 months ago and the shock rod still moved up pretty fast when you pushed it in). They ride really nice and handle well still, but I've had friends with the same shocks and springs that don't even drag or auto-x their cars and they've only seen about 2 years max....eh...got lucky i guess.

so if i don't get the tokico hp's then would you guys suggest? I'm just upgrading the suspension on my daily driver...a 99 sedan. She just gets me to and from work & school, and the occasional drive down to buckhead. So the best performance is not exactly a must, just a decent setup that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Well the hp's wouldn't cost you that much, or you could go with the non adjustable kyb's for even cheaper.....I've seen the kyb agx's on ebay go for pretty cheap too. If your trying to save money but want something decent go with either the hp's or the kyb non adjustables.
