So I've had my HX for a while and converted it from CVT AT to a DX MT.

I've known about the bracket and mount problem for a while, it just happened to slip my mind for about 15000 miles. Lol. Car still runs fine and isn't broken down, but this has to be addressed sooner or later.

Just wondering all the possibilities I have at this time.

Has a company come out with a bracket and mount yet?

BTW, I plan on swapping a B16A2 in this car, so any welds I would have to take out later I would like to avoid.

Anyone have ideas?

 

is the bracket just welded to the frame rail? upper mounts are the same. if anything you would need to replace the lower mount. if you swap the b16 in you will need to swap to a 5spd or you will have many problems because the b series auto transmissions are much bigger then a d series.) its been done but its not something an average joe can do.

 

Since it was a CVT Auto (the tranny mounted on the top of the frame rail) and I converted it to a Manual using the DX tranny and engine (side mount).

I wanted to know if they ever made a conversion mount or no. OR should I just weld it in place. Are the Upper Tranny Mounts for the B16A2(2000 Si Motor, which I plan on swapping in during the spring) the same as the DX? If so I'm about to invest in hasport mounts and have a shop weld those in place during the new swap.

 

no one has made a conversion mount, as that is not a common swap to do.

make some and throw them in the marketplace and no no one makes them so obviously the demands not there. honda auto transmissions are junk and everyone will tell u its better and easier to just put a 5 speed b series in. it will fit like stock with no modification the auto will need some are the transmission case is much bigger then a 5 speed..

 

That's not the issue, '96 - '00 HXs with the CVT tranny used a totally different upper transmission mount, it's not like doing a regular auto to manual swap on any other '96 - '00 civic, you have to fab up an upper transmission mount because no one makes one. Also to whoever asked whatever you use for a mount on the D-series will work with a B-series.

 

i will be surprised if i even see 1 person wanting this. the amount of hx automatics on the road is very small.
