Default How do I get the code for the radio?

I removed the 7.5 amp fuse that clears the check engine light codes and it wiped out the radio and clock settings. The radio now says CODE and I no longer have the code. Apparently, someone that worked on my car has taken the manual that had the code written down in it. I hope I do not have to worry about someone coming to my house now to steal my radio. How can I get the code?

The dealer just told me I need the serial number off the radio, which means it may have to come out. He also said you can sometimes hold down button 1 and 6 while turning on the radio and the serial number will appear. But he also said he doubted it will work on a 97. Hope that helps others.

If you cannot find the code than you will the serial # and VIN #

Check around the glovebox area and in the trunk...I found the code along the side moulding in my other Acura once.

I appreciate the link, but how do I get the panel around the radio off? There are no visible screws. This is a 97 accord.

I just called the dealer and they said if the car was not sold new there they cannot give the code number without the serial number off the radio. But he did say they would pull the radio out for me for free! Said they just started that policy. We will see and I will report back here.

I just came back from the dealer. They pulled the radio out to get the code and got it working for FREE!! It is a lot of work as the whole console has to come out too. The service man told me people were complaining about the cost so they started eating it and just paying their techs to do it. They hope you will come back for other service.
I hope ALL dealers do this now.

Caution- The tech may break your radio bezel getting out if he doesn't know what he is doing. They trashed mine and just left it loose and out of place claiming I brought it in that way! I made them order me a new one.
