They won't? That's weird! On what reason? Try another auto zone store.

You don't list your car but assuming a '97 EX 5spd, a new OEM Denso alternator is $265 (not shipped though) from Majestic. There is a reason users don't recommend buying axles from Advanced Auto.

My bad 1999 lx accord f23a1,cant leave my car in a parking lot so i couldnt get it shipped and not spending 100+ on towing, i would have ordered one online if i was psychic, and knew this would have happened but it was only 5 months old barely drive at night so i dont use headlights and no sound system, they shouldnt be allowed to sell these crappy things by law lol.....but yea im going to order a brand new one then wait for this one to go put my new one in and go to autozone and get another reman and sell it lol now i know f**k anything reman And forget autozone crappy parts, now i need to go check what my contour svt has in it im worried lol

I came in here to say this. Even though Denso unit is a bit more expensive, it's totally worth it. Less than half a second from a turn of the key to start the car

Yea i should have went to orilleys but napa would have been my first choice but they were closed and i didnt want to leave my car there to long the gas station guy was like move your car out of here,so i didnt want to risk getting it towed would have been the same price as a duralast alternator or more and autozone was the closest also tried to get my warranty with them,if napa was open i would have left and bought this one with them, there stuff is better quality from my experience in the past...but big lesson learned dont buy duralast they will break when your so broke trying to catch up with bills and your so close you can feel freedom then bam duracrap puts you back in the hole then laugh in your face and spit on you lol.......but now since everyone seems to like Denso i guess its time to save i got about 5 months lol.........but in the end it is my own fault i should have expected this from my dads experience but his duralast crapped every 2 years on the dot hmmmm they are making them crappier now lol......

I dislike autozone my first horrible experience they gave me the srong spark plugs with wrong thread length and blew a spark plug out of my other svt contour with the high output engine,i specifically said svt but i was in a hurry and swapped plugs out then when a plug blew out on the freeway going like 70 and downshifted lol boom took it home and compares old plugs and it was half the size, my fault for not checking before, but booo for autozone for hiring kids that think they know it all i even argued with him and said make sure its for the svt not the se but in the end still half my fault, and i will PROMISE i will never go there again not even if they had a sale on mobile 1 oil for 99 cents a quart im done with them id rather go to napa for the important stuff and orilleys for the other minor stuff

Check the date on any batteries you buy from them first. Some stores stock from the front of the rack and some from the back. If they stock from the front and later from the back then you could end up with a battery that's already years old.

The alternators seem to be hit or miss. The company who remans them must not have great quality control. ALWAYS get an alternator or starter bench tested before you buy it and before it leaves the store. Bench testing is free at Autozone.

Always try to double check your warranty information on the computer or the receipt.

Remember that they treat and pay these employees like they are disposable. They're the McDonald's of auto parts. There is very little training and a lot of it just needs to be learned by each employee on their own.

So, you get what Autozone pays for. Autozone pays for disposable, untrained employees. So that's what the customer often ends up with.

I used to work there and even my manager would say that.

The company could be a really awesome company, but very few auto parts stores hire in a way that attracts knowledgeable people.

People liked to come in expecting we knew everything about cars, but honestly, if we did we wouldn't be working just above minimum wage at an auto parts chain.

Please just take all that into consideration when you buy. Don't expect everyone to be a genius and remember we're being reamed by management nearly evey day.

Anyway you might be able to find the receipt? I save all, or at least most, of mine in a big binder for each car. So I figure asking is worth a shot.

Best you'll be able to get right now is probably an exchange or store credit. Call the district manager if store managers don't help. No one wants a lecture from the DM! Their phone number is often posted in the front windows of the store or you could ask for it.

Wow, they have 1 year warranties at the very least on all of the products they sell. I'm really surprised. What was their justification for not honoring the warranty ?

Couldn't find his warranty in the computer. Must have been entered in incorrectly.

If you take the alternator down to autozone more times than none if you ask for the supervisor, they will still replace it. Just keep trying different autozones. That's what I would do.

if you didnt keep your reciept or didnt use an autozone card then that is kinda your fault. usually when you make a purchase they ask your phone number and have that on file. everyone autozone i go to they do this. and they have always been able to look up my purchases with just the phone number i give them if i lose the reciept.

Not keeping the receipt isn't really an excuse either. The receipts are on heat transfer paper and the text can and will disappear. I've had some receipts that are only a couple months old covered in splotches where the paper must have somehow gotten too warm I guess. Can barely or just plain cannot read what they once said now.
