Ridgeline burning oil in one cylinder only
Hi guys, I have a 2006 Ridgeline with 114,000 miles on it. It recently started smoking and burning oil ( about 1 qt for 700 miles). The engine seems to run fine otherwise. I removed all plugs and found the one on the front bank on the far left (cyl 4) extremely oil fouled. All of the rest of the plugs look normal. I figured it is either the valve stem seals, worn valve guides, or piston rings issue. I checked the exhaust valve stem seals on cylinder 4 and they do not look worn or broken. I removed the front bank head and found that both exhaust valves on cylinder 4 have carbon built up on them as well as a little carbon on the stems. All other valves look nice and clean. Does this sound like a valve stem/guide sealing issue to you or a piston ring issue? Thanks so much for your help.
