D15B8 Bearings - Aftermarket Standard vs. colored OEM
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been answered already, but I've spent an entire morning scouring to find the answer.
Friend of mind is helping me rebuild a D15B8 from a 92 cx hatch. The rings are worn, compression sucks, and it's just time to do it. It's my daily driver, and i'm never planning on racing it, just replacing stock parts.
The bearings I'd need are all yellow for the mains, and 2 green, a brown and a yellow for the caps. I'm not interested in sinking the money for the OEMs if aftermarkets can be used, but I'm wary of throwing in "STD" bearings when Honda made the bearings so specific.
I've seen the color -> size charts (Thanks, Earl!) but I can't find what size aftermarket standard bearings are for example, for ACL "STD".
Am I worrying too much? Can I just put standards in there and call it a day? The journals themselves are in fine condition, there's 19 years of brown oil stains, but no scratches, scores, etc...
Thanks guys, and sorry for the n00b question.

I used standard sized bearings in my B8, no issues and have accumulated 31k miles to date. Main thing is to make sure your clearances are within spec. If I had the money I would've gone for the OEM stuff though, it's up to you.
Thanks - 31K is very reassuring! I just ordered 'top line' standard bearings from import performance parts. I'll check clearances, etc... hope they're decent.
