Default B18C to B18B. Need some opinions.

I know it sounds stupid but I can get a B18B that is built up and has great all motor power for a good price. Now the question is should I get rid of my B18C(which is stock) and buy the B18B(with lots of mods)? No negative comments please. Just need opinions that can help with my decision. Thanks.

dont you dare! The b18c has soo much more potential. You would have to be stupid to do this! If you can get the b18b for a good price then get it and drop it into a hatch.. then you will have 2 bad *** cars!

B18C that's a freaking jdm type R...why the hell would u want to downgrade...(just kidding) both motors have potential either way you look at it, just depends on which route you plan on going and how much money u want to spend..if i were you i stick with the b18c1 and build it up...you won't be dissapointed...

I agree totally. The B18b (LS) block may have some redeeming qualities, but we can all agree, the head is nowhere near as good for making STREETABLE powe as a vtec head.

sig says he has a 94gsr. depending on the condition and mileage of the b18c, it might make sense to buy an ls motor for cheap, and build it. of course, he'll lose the godly VTEC.. oooahhhooh. but then there's vtec head, boost, or both. or just stick with the b18c and put your money into building it up and making sure it runs smooth. it is definitely a better platform to start with in terms of allmotor imo

So... Put a VTEC head on it to give it as much potential as the b18c... wow.. that must mean.. OH NO!! The B18C DOES HAVE MORE POTENTIAL!!!?? HOLY **** I WAS RIGHT!

Port & Polish (Done by Race Designs down in Cali)
3 Angle Valve Job (Done by Race Designs down in Cali)
Port-Match Intake Manifold
Distributor
Thottle Body
HCP Motormounts
HCP Shift Linkage
LS Haft Shaft
Raxle Axles
B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator
B&M Fuel Pressure Gauge
New Starter
Alternator
Injectors
LS Tranny (Needs new syncros)
LS Rear Tranny Bracket
LS Engine Mount Bracket
LS Hubs

I think I'm just going to sell my GSR and buy a hatch and put that baby(b18b) in. 13s would be no problem. I've always wanted a hatch.

That's a BS. A 1.8L can't make that much torque at wheel. Even with 12:1+ CR pistons, you won't be close to that tq number.

Another thing is that 403's w/ P&P head won't get you a 176 whp.

You should ask for a dyno graph for that car to make sure.

i am not going to give you any negative feedback but i would stick with the gs-r but that is just me but i know you can get alot more out of a B18C..it might take more money on yuor part but in the end it will be better if you stick with the gs-r. it already has the Vtec system!!! wich you know is one of the great things that Honda has done in tuning there cars!
