Default Hawk Blues...

OK, I'm heading to Mid-Ohio tomorrow for a NASA HPDE event. Immediately after that I'm back on the road and off to Putnam Park for a two-day school. My question is this... Does anyone have any experience street driving Hawk Blues? I may be pressed for time between events so I'm wondering if I should "make" time to swap in street pads or just hit the road and hope I still have rotors when I get to Putnam. I used to run HP+'s which worked fine as a dual purpose pad (not particularly awesome on the track though). I searched the forum on this one but didn't find much... Any help would be great! Thx

Yeah, I just found this post... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=280552

I see Chad was daily driving his Blues. I've got a newer set of factory pads and a set of 1/2 used HP+'s, so I'll bring those along just in case. A friend of mine (StageOne) is running DS3000's we may both chance it and make the drive to Putnam with the "track" pads.

You'll be ok with the Blues, just don't leave'em on too long.

On my RX-7, rotors lasted about 1 month of daily use + track with Blues.

Thanks. I'll leave them on. After reading several other brake related posts, I may also look into a set of Panther XP's. That is, if I have bad luck with the blues.

My first set of Blue's I drove to the track on. I needed to bed 'em in on the way there. You can hear the pads grinding away at your rotors every time you brake. Keep in mind they're not a street pad.

As a matter of fact I'll be bed'ing in new rotors and pads on the way to the track. I have white K1's which I wasn't sure I liked on a yellow car. After this weekend, I'm sure I'll have a chance to repaint them.
