Default 95 DX Sedan, passenger SRS deployed

Last winter, I was hot-rodding it around a snowy parking lot and smashed into a pole. No damage (that wasn't there before) to the car but my passenger side airbag deployed. Has anyone ever pulled the SRS assembly out from the dash? I have been meaning to pull it out ever since but I haven't really figured out the best way to get it out of there.

Have you even tried? Remove the glovebox.

i would get a helms or a haynes manual and make damn sure you unplug the battery and let it stay unplugged for a while before you go messing with it lol.

you'd have a bad day if the driver airbag popped out and socked you in the face harder than mike tyson lol.

I guess I was kind of hoping there might be a write up somewhere. I am a pictures type of guy.

I haven't tried. I cut off the bag and looked down in there but haven't really given it much thought until recently. Kind of why it has just been sitting there popped open since last December. I saw a manual saying it is held in by 2 torx but it was kinda sketchy. Have you ever messed around in that general area?

I got the Haynes manual and another version of one on my computer that I downloaded. They both have plenty of info on the driver side but not much on the passenger. The passenger bag is deployed and the clockspring on the driver side is bad so I'm not really worried about them going off on me.

The diagrams are for 96-00 Civics, though your Civic is probably similar.

Looks just like it, I am glad to notice the assembly has pawls holding it on there now. Knowing is half the battle!
