.....ii got a 90 honda civic 5spd 1.5...has a lot of smoke coming from exhaust..it smokes at idle sometimes...it smokes when taking off and at high rpms..theres oil on the tip of the muffler..muffler is about 2 years old..i got after market headers and a stock exhaust..when i first got it done had to take it bak bout 2 mnths later and get it replaced cuz the exhaust canister looked like it was bout to explode..put a aftermarket canister on it. then thats when the bakfire started happening..cat is all black...possibly coverd in soot..in the car if i pull up the shifter boot u smell notthing but fumes..at high rpms the bak of the car will fill up wit smoke and fumes..its not really burning that much oil tho..but there is oil thats coming out from the muffler..it backfires on deceleration...now the computer was throwing a code for the fuel injectors but the relay is jacked up.. the relay went when the ignition switch..the tumbler went...that was relaplaced but the relay wasnt..it has to b held a certain way to kick the car ovr..ignition coil distributer cap spark plugs wires..everything has been replaced..spark plugs are still fouling out tho..oil gets thru to the the spark plugs..valve cover gasket and seals has been replaced...the 3rd spark plug from the driver side is coverd wit oil and has carbon deposits on it...and from the drivers side of the the motor the 4th exhaust chamber has oil coming thru..that gasket was new..ii need some direction to start in..throwing it away is not an option..thanku

kk well i dont kno quite what ur seeing but i can understand what i put. ..i cant understand what ur saying... and really.. my grammer and sentences.. didnt kno i was in english class.. i heard that the compression and leakdown test wont tell me anything....do i need a new exhaust system ... or can the relay foul up the fuel injectors and this is the cause..ii put mad spaces btween my words so u can understand it...

 

I seen this countless times. Your rings are gone. You have a couple choices here. I'll start with the easiest and work my way up:

1) buy another good engine that you can straight swap in.

2) re hone and re-ring the engine.

3) rebuild.
