Recently I have had the engine over heat and the battery light blink at the exact same time (not consistently, but at random times) . I am not sure what could have brought this on as this is a new problem and have done nothing out of the ordinary except:

1. Got a new battery
2. Got new terminals
3. Gave a jump to a car
4. Right side of my car was on the side walk

I have no control over it and want to say this happens most often in the morning when I am at a slight hill in first gear, but it has happened to me in 3rd gear on a slight hill when it was warmer.

I contacted my car friend on this and he has never heard of this issue, I dont believe my car over heats and not sure why my battery would show up when I replaced it 2-3 weeks ago

 

Seems like separate problems, could be a bad battery, the new terminals could be shitty as well. Go get it tested (autozone does it for free).

Check out your coolant, is any leaking?
