Original key?
Just bought a 1998 R and it came with what I THINK is the original key. Looks a lot like the knock off "Type R" keys you see on Ebay. Does anyone have a picture of what the key SHOULD look like? Im looking to replace it as this one is fairly worn and wanted to match the orignal.
Mine is original and the Integra Type-R metal section is also indented and not in great shape.

35113-ST7-Z01 KEY, BLANK (TYPE R)
I bought one from our 97 last summer. Take the blank to a local locksmith or the Home Depot/Lowe's to get it cut.
Does the Key to be reprogrammed or anything? I heard you need to buy a transponder bypass kit if you want to get one of those keys cut for an ITR???
It was the 2000 and 2001 that had the immobilizer, so those keys would need to be re-programmed.
Edit: To be a little bit more clear, the key needs to be re-programmed because the 2000 and 2001 ECU needs it. So if your car was 1998, you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Most stock 98 keys will be dented and banged up with the stock silver paint worn off the metal portion exposing the bare metal.
You won't need to re-program it.

you can get whats called "copy key" or "T5" if you have the original key still
It copies the program from the org key so no need to reprogram your car for the new key
P#35113-S84-T5
thats the Honda P# anyway not sure what acura's one is though. But you can be cool and have a H on your key instead of an A
plus only $25 for a programmed cut key from the Dealership and should be able to be done at any Honda dealership

I work for Home Depot and I can assure you that we can and do have the proper tools to make a 97/98 R key.. we will not however make a 00/01. All Home Depots that have a key making station are equipped with Access brand auto key replicating system, this is a very high quality system that when used properly (by a half decent associate) can make a flawless copy of a key. The key I believe will be a number 27 in the line up of key choices.
