burning oil and coolant?
just bought a 89 prelude si auto first time i fired it up after sitting for about 2 months it diddnt smoke until it got hot. then big plooms of white smoke then driving down the road it smoked blue. the guy said it might have some fried rings. i thought ok honda engines are relitivly cheap. ( i diddnt pay a lot for the car) got it home and the engine overheated going through a drive through but promptly cooled down when i took off for home. the next morning i checked all the fluids the coolant was low and the oil was fine so i filled the cooling system bled and vented the radiator cap so the system wouldnt build up too much pressure. started it and revved it and a rainbow blu blak and white came out at first but no overheating sitting idleing for about 10 min. ive had the car about a month now changed the oil to mobile and lucas and so far the smoke is almost gone when revving but it does still burn about a quart every 2 weeks. wondering if all this could be fixed for even cheaper with just a head gasket and seals or even a dura- seal additive anyone ever tried it? anyways witch way would you go head job or whole motor? all feedback apreciated. thanks
btw im driving it 3 to 4 times a day every day on the highway and in town, performance seems to get better everyday, but still burning oil not that i can see in big plooms tho.
