Default car smoking bad

hi, i have a 92 civic cx hatch, that is smoking alot...
it smokes at idle..and even more when i give it some gas....
The car has been stored for a few months now. At first I thought i was burning oil, but the car wasn't burning any oil before being stored, n hasnt been driven since.
The smoke is white...it could be burning oil, just doesnt really make sense.
i could be wrong, im a newbie afterall :D
well i was wondering if anyone else had this problem after storing ?n wat u did? or if anyone could give me an idea of what the problem is...
thankyou for your time...

I'm no expert, but are you sure its oil burning? Does the smoke have an almost sweet smell to it? Where is it coming from?

If its really white it could be burning coolant. I once had a hole in my radiator that leaked and caused white smoke to billow out from my hood.

what is your motor setup?

Usually white smoke is sign of burning coolant, smell the smoke if it smells sweet then its coolant.

White/blue-tint smoke is oil, usually resulting in a black sooted rear bumper from the exhaust.

Does the car smoke, and get better after the car is warmed up? or Constant amount of smoke at idle, and more during load on the engine?

monitor your fluids and see if you are losing coolant or oil. Check your resivoir and see if you getting oil and coolant mixing together, it'll look like a brown milk shake consistency.

your problem could be, hg, rings, valve seals... i'd suggest a compression and leak down test to narrow it down.

sounds like its just been sitting. might wanna do a seafoam treatment, oil change, tune up, fresh gas. i would drive it for a little while before saying you have a problem.

Thanks for the replies...
for the questions..
its coming from the exhaust...the smoke is constant..smokes at idle..and more during the load on the engine...
doesnt get any better when warmed up....
Im not sure if it smells sweet, due to a cold... my nose has been shot for days..

Ill be getting a leak down and compression test sometime within the next month..

Thanks again for the replies...

Yeah i was thinking it might, just because of the fact it has been sitting around for a bit..
i pulled it out last week .... and i filled up the block with smoke....
with my bad luck... 3 doors down from my house... i got stopped by a cop...
no insurance no plates.... and i had to tow my car home from 3 house down ..

Ive been running it on the daily to see if the problem would go away ...
and i havent had any luck yet.. and i was left with no option but to post it up ...to try to get some imput...

well again thanks for the replies....
