I Need HELP!!! Just bought a 10' CiviC LX-S.
Hey i need some help, I just bought a 2010 Civic LX-S. Ive been trying to find out if it is possible to swap a K20 type-r into my LX and what parts i would need... Any help and advice would be GREATLY appreciated as i am fairly new to this.
To start off, we're not trying to be mean (it's a fairly common question asked by new folks, I would suggest searching first, but alas, you asked the question already). From a cost standpoint, it's gonna cost you a pretty penny to swap the k20 into your R18.
If I remember correctly, there was a guy on 8thcivic.com that did it, and it cost him roughly 13k for everything. Mind you, this was a few years ago. AND he did a RSX swap (not the k20 type-r in question).

The dx lx ex come with the 1.8, a nice engine but no k20.
If you could just do a 6 speed trans swap it would make a 1.8 a whole new animal, but that is impossible.
Your best bet is to sell your lx or ex and get yourself a Si, after owning both lx and ex cars and then getting an SI I was sorry I ever bought a civic with the 1.8.

You will find that, Buying a wrecked SI will greatly help you achieve your goals. The first thing you have to do is find one, But were you ask?
The local auctions have them all the time and with a right deal with a right dealer (which is hard to come by these days) you can get one. Btw all you need is the carcass and some hand greasing labor!
If you want to know were to get parts or an SI email me. yuro1991@gmail.com
And for your info This would be like a 4000 dollar swap with your labor of course
