Manifold fabrication tools!
Hi guys/ladies.
I have serched and searched through the internet for some other tools than the ones I allready have in terms of pipe chamfering, deburring, etc. and I want to see what do you guys use in order to get some myself.
Your help is highly apreciated!
Thanks,
B

For deburring I allreasdy bought this tool:

And for chamfering I have seen a tool similiar to this one:

What's your opinion on this?

After owning many 6"x48" belt sanders that just didn't cut it for manifold building, I finally took some good advice and bought a 2hp 6"x89" belt sander and got predator ceramic grain 36grit belts for it. Next to the dynasty its by far my favorite tool. You can knife edge bevel 1.5" sch40 stainless pipe in 5 seconds litterly. Can't say enough good things about the combo of the 2 (sanders and belts). One belt last around 3-5 manifolds including decking the flanges perfectly flat.

that odd... But yeah, if I had at least 1/2 of work load you have I would also search for ways to get my manifold build faster...Thats why this first manifold I'm building is 2x more time then you guys do it... cause I dont have all the tools I need...
My tools:
-TIG welder
-chop saw
-belt sander(small Bosch sh*t - ~3x20" belt)
-angle grinder
-die grinder
-little compressor
-hand drill!
Tools I feel I need to buy in near future:
-Bigger belt sander... I'm kinda looking at these two:
this one is for 175$,
this one for 210$

what do you guys say... is it worth to spend those 35$ for the second belt sander? I kinda think it is... both are 4x36" belt sanders.
-press drill.
I have used a delta 3/4hp and owned a jet 3/4hp, both 6"x48" and they have zero Tq to get the job done imo.
That's probley going to work better then what your using now. Just remember when your trying to deck a flange flat, you need power.
5sec? LOL

both have belt speed of 8 meters/second...

The next level I can but here in Latvia is this:

But this costs more then my TIG welder :D so, this ain't cutting
but yeah... thisis 1.1kw(1.5hp)... it costs 950$... But those belt sanders which I posted above are ok for start??? And should I buy that silver one or that blue one?
Thanks
That one looks like you best bet, remember, that is money well spent. It's what kept me from buying one in the first place. 100 belts and over 800$ later I realized I should have just got the best one I could. Now a belt last me forever, and the power is second to none. Again, one of my favorite tools

If I will start earning money for living with fabrications 9-5, I will definetly buy quality tools, but for now, I just dont have funds to start out with quality parts... I need to seek for tools that fit my budget to be able to make something

P.S. so until I get really going, and be able to buy that big thing(that for 950$, which has 6x79" belt), I should be ok with those 4x36" sanders??? cause it's kinda funny, but for now I'm getting by with this little thing
This is what I just got as a present.
Powermatic 1.5 hp 6x48 belt and 12" disc. I can feed some serious metal into it without it bogging down. And you can remove the end on the belt to do a contoured surface unlike most jets and delta units.
