crxsi/b18c general clearances & 4?s
swapping a b18c in 90 crxsi, will use hasports mnts.
i know i will have to:
dent the side for alternator
notch the crossmember for header
trim webbing on hood
crankpulley seems close to radius rods, as long as it dont touch.
1. anything else to check?
2. my car sits 2.25, too low for this motor or is ok? im thinking that oilpan.
3. i dont want to use a old beatup tranny so it can break, especially if im building
the motor up, i prefer to use the type-r or si - will they fit?
4. that hyraulic to cable kit, from hasport, anybody use it(work)?
thanx

You might have some ground clearance issues being that low...what header are you using?? Hasport only makes a kit to convert a pre existing hydraulic setup to accept a cable transmission...not the other way around. It is all custom fabrication to use a hydraulic trans in a cable actuated car. Talk to mackymcg...he did the conversion.

I have B18c1 in 88 CRX si using Hasport Billet mounts and the car is lowered on Koni Yellows and H&R Race.
The hood webbing will have to be cut out for sure.
You shouldn't have any problems with the radius rods or ground clearance. I definitely haven't. Don't know about the tranny or kit tho.

I would get a 4 2 1 header instead of the 4-1. My car is not even dropped and the header is already dented. With the new billet mounts by hasport, my hood is still rubbing on the side of the valve cover by the crank shaft pulley. As for the trannys, you be better off using cable if you're doing the swap yourself. Hydro is alot more work.

i aslo use h&r race springs with tokico blues though- been on there since 95, i will be upgrading coilovers by the end of the year, be abel adjust the ride-hieght. as for header i will be talking to smsp for that, maybe he can custom make it to help out with the header clearance also, i do like the car a little low, but not slammed .
tranny - be gathering info, my car is a work in progress, dont mind extra work, i will have help also.
ok thanx for the responses fellas, most helpful!
