Switching to hydro tranny from YS1 cable tranny in B18c 89 CRX Si. What do I need?
Trying to look at running hydro trannies with stouter synchros like an ITR or if it works a GSR if I can get one with close ratios. I have a modded B18c crammed under the hood of my 89 CRX Si. It has the Hasport mounts and a YS1 cable tranny. 3 rd gear synhcro was crunched by its ex-ower. Looking at my options. While the cable feel may be nice a stouter tranny would be better and hydro opens up that option. Do I need new Hasport mounts? I am guessing yes. Then I have to do all the hydrualic plumbing/fitting for the clutch pedal to actuate via hydraulic. Is there a "kit" for this or is it a trip to the junkyard. If anyone has done it I would love to hear you opinions and experience. Thanks

Ya, its the efb2 kit. It turns the hydro tranny into a cable. You can use your clutch and flywheel you just need a matching clutch disc. Refer to my site, I have pics of the setup. PS, I have a gsr in my crx with a gsr lsd trany. Ryan

Thanks droppedcrxsi. I read you swap discussion. Is is a PITA to plumb the hydrualics on the tranny swap? Thanks.

hmm, didn't see pm. OK to have a hydraulic clutch set up you have to have a hydraulic line to a reservior at the firewall with a master cylinder to operate the clutch. If I have a cable set up I have to set all that up. Correct? Then I have to buy different mounts from Hasport because of the change from a cable tranny to a hydraulic tranny? Does the hydraulic style differ enough in its casing design that it has to be a different mount?

Yes, the tranny casing is different, so you need a different style mount.
You are missing the point of the kit, you use the cable, and hasport supplies a kit that makes the tranny a cable. I told you to look at my site, it has a picture of it installed, and how it works. Ryan
