Stiff pedal and wont go in gear
I have a 2000 civic si. just changed the clutch master cylinder....bench bleed it...replaced the flex line and the slave cylinder.....so here is the problem. sometimes the trans will shift perfect...no grinds, smooth...the clutch pedal is smooth all the way to the floor. Other times when we press the pedal in its smooth about halfway down and then there is alot f resistance but you can still get it to the floor...when it does that you cant put the transmission in any gear unless you either bring the rpms up and it will slide into gear...or you cycle the clutch pedal until its smooth again....the fluid is brand new...bled correctly, and topped off in the resevoir.....im stumped...kinda think it needs a new clutch...any insight as to whats going on would be awesome...thanks guys
or broke a finger off. Turn the car on and have someone push the clutch in and out and see if you can hear anything moving around in the transmission. Fingers break off the pressure plate pretty often on b-series clutches too. I've experienced 2 myself.
sure enough...pulled the trans off and a spring came out of the disc and lodged itself between the disc and pressure plate fingers. the spring directly across from the one that came out was about to fall out also.new clutch and shifts good. thanks guys.
