Thoughts on driveshafts?
I need new drive shafts for my 99 accord v6 (J30A1). I wanted to get some opinions about OEM versus aftermarket. I've gotten suggestions to just go with aftermarket from Pep Boys or Oreilly just because OEM will rape the crap out of you on the price. Agree or Disagree? Any benefits from going OEM? My car is about to hit 200K (luckily same transmission...)
i swore off buying axles from Advanced and Autozone years ago. too many mis-labeled, mis-boxed, poor quality axles. it's possible they've changed.. but not likely.
i have been pretty pleased with axles from O'Reillys. the new ones are only a couple bucks more than rebuilds so i would def. go with new.
OE would obviously be very good, but you're right, the price is killer! you could buy a set of new ones from four different auto parts stores (and pick your favorite..) for the price of a set of axles from the dealer.

Its a V6 so his is a auto,id get them from a place with life time warranty like orilleys if they ever break take them off and get another one......ebay has some at macautopartsdiscount they are brand new not rebuilt and no core also liftime warranty
I just did on my 99 last week, don't know the quality but I paid $200/pair (with tax) at NAPA Auto Parts.

You can tell the difference between (1) and (2). the (1) is on the passenger side, and (2) on the driver side. I replaced both and found out the one on the driver side is still good as you can see, because I didn't know the previous owner replaced it. ( I got this car about a year ago). If you live near my place (Tyson Corner, Sterling, Leesburg in Northern VA), I will give you for free because I bought the new parts, no return cores.
You can find very usefull responses from other members in my post below:

Good Luck!
