Opinions/input 99 Prelude suspension question
I have a 99 base model Prelude that I'd like to lower, I already have tokiko illuminas installed. This car is a dd, and won't see the track. Additionally, the wings west lip kit is installed so that limits how low I'm willing to go.
I'm after increased handling, and eliminating at least a bit of the wheel gap. I'm looking for a drop somewhere around 1" with decent spring rates. Initially I considered the tein htech or stech, but the spring rates aren't great on either. After some searching it looks like the tanabe gf210 springs would be as close to ideal as possible - 1" drop f/r with spring rates of 4.5k and 4.8k F/r.
Any input, or recommendations? Most springs that offer minimal drop also offer minimal spring rate, and to get better spring rates you have to choose a lower drop. Ideally maybe I'd see if eibach could make me some custom springs, but I dunno.
TIA

You aren't going to find off the shelf springs that suit what you're wanting. If you want a moderate drop with stiffer rates you should just order ground control sleeves and pick rates you think you'll like. You can set the height wherever you want.
Edit: Those spring rates are really soft. ~240lbs front and ~265lbs rear. Stock rates are 200lbs front and 170lbs rear.
It will probably be better, but still really soft for a 3200lb car. I've got 350lb Front 350lb rear rates on my 2300lb civic and I find they're too soft for my tastes. I'd really like 450-550 front and 400-450 rear.
