Default All motor B Series

Sup squad thinking of building a little n/a setup for the daily nothing to crazy.. But then it will be daily/weekend/track car..

I was thinking

b16 head pnp
skunk 2 pro series valve-train
skunk 2 pro series cam gears
skunk2 pro series manifold with jg 70-72mm tb
not sure about cams, but I was thinking skunk 2 stage 2 or maybe stage 3 if there not to aggressive( open to suggestions)
rc 450 injectors so it has plenty fuel to flow
b16 tranny cf synchros with gsr 5th and itr final drive with obx lsd
clutchmasters clutch with 8-10lb flywheel
aem fuel rail fpr with gauge

gsr block bored to 81.5mm
mircopolished gsr crank and balanced
rs machine 81.5mm pistons
brand new gsr oil pan & pickup
toda racing timing belt
all new gaskets
gsr arp headstuds

What do you guys think? I know most mike say go K but I don't wanna convert and do everything .. I have alot of B series parts and extra trannies so this is why I rather stay B.. So let me know what you guys think?

for daily i would go with the stage 2 tuner series or pro 1's and a 68 mm tb. no need for that size on a 1.8 n/a for the daily

Why not? IIRC the tuner threes still had stock primary lobes. Hell even the pro series cams can be daily'ed

for one unless your reving to 10k rpm and higher its pointless plus from his setup he posted it wont have the compression to really benefit from those cams
and third the primaries on the tuner 3 are not like stock cams just because it says tuner dont under estimate the size of the cam

i two things i would change on your build would be stick with a gsr head and run p30/pr3 pistons. between these two parts you will gain at least .5 to .7 comp over an itr piston/b16 head set up.

second about your cams, the stage three skunks might be too big. oh im sorry "tuner three" i was just responding up top to the guy saying they cant be daily driven. i say go with some allmotor cams or if low on funds some skunk stg 2 or pro 1. you might have enough motor for the pro2 but im not all too familiar with the pro cams besides a pro 1

OK Well it would be driven around once in a while but more of a street/track fun car..

Ya I was thinking stage 3 would be to much but I heard the stage 2's will be great and have great top end

That is true I will only be shifting to where my turner says I make power too and no more.. So if those cams would be ideal for higher compression and 10k then I'll scratch that off my list..

Really gsr head over the itr head? But since the b16 head flows so well, that's why I went with that over the gsr.. And I can't change the block setup because it's already built I'm actually thinking about buying my buddy's built block and those are the specs of it.. But I get what you saying, if I was doing this from the beginning I probably would have done what your saying..

Ok everyone has negative feedback on the turner 3's so I guess I'll just go with some stage 2's then..

Thank you all for the feedback , helps me out alot..

Also he was building this motor for alot of nos because he was gonna use that block with a worked b16 head ,skunk 2 manifold, aem fpr and fuel rail , 450 rc injectors, 68mm itr tb, and etc

Lets say 5k because if it ended u being more I would just get a k swap 2000-2500 and the k series package for 3k and have a tuned 230-245 monster.. Rather spend that money on a k then a b and still be reliable with bolt ons and pretty quick car

Who has spent that amount on a k-series swap? From everything that I have researched, they get way pricey. I would stick with what you have and run Skunk 2 Stage 2's. Depending on what you want for mid-range, the stage 2's would be just fine. What compression are you looking at? Did I miss that?

legit k series swap with everything 2000-2500 including K pro is what I see them go for locally.. Also that's what I was thinking and not sure of compression yet was going to use the b16 head but people are saying use a gsr. But will see what I end up doing..

isn't that price just for the motor? I am no k-series guy, but from what I have read, they cost way more to actually put them in.

It costs anywhere from 1500-2800 for a full kswap legit (depending where you go). Another 3k with kpro included to drop in.
