Don't do it.

The crankcase breather system is designed to blow air INTO the valve cover and out through the stock catch can. The Helms manual has an airflow diagram that explains it. If you put a filter on it you have disabled the system. I don't know if this will cause any real damage but why experiment? the manufacturers must put the things on there for a reason.

A better mod would be an aftermarket catch can to keep oil vapor out of your intake.

What is the aftermarket catch can exactly doing for my engine? Is it only to keep it "healthy" or will it also improve engine performance in any way?
