soooo i just picked up some used springs and shocks....few questions
First post! Not new around here been tolling for a few years now. I recently picked up my car in Sig. the car came with lowering springs and honestly its way low! Still has stock shocks on which are blown by the looks I'm gonna guess it was the aggressive drop? Newho, I found a local suspension shop had a used set of tokico blues with postpone eibach springs for $125! Being that I was already in dire need of shocks I figured this couldn't of been to bad of a deal right? So now that I've brought them home the reality of just buying some used stuff set In.. The mechanic said the owner was going for stock parts and didnt know much about the condition of them as it had been awhile since he performed the work.
So now my question is how do I find out if they are still in good condition? Right now I have close to a two finger gap between my tire and fender , how do u think the sportlines will compare? Someone told me the car could also be a bit lower now because of the leaky shocks. Suggestions?

The sportlines is not a terribly aggressive drop. I run sportlines. With factory 14" wheels, I have to be careful in some driveways. With my 17" wheels, only my wife manage to scrape the front from time to time. You have a tiny bit of adjustability when you install the shocks, based on where you clamp to the shock. You can tell the mechanic to clamp it so that it is a tiny bit higher. I clamped mine a tiny bit lower.
Yes, used shocks you have to cross your fingers. If they are totally shot, they would not have any dampening when you press it down and release it. At least, that is how the demo is, in the auto-store.
