Default Badge# 01-0989

Unfortunatley I have some very disturbing news. I recently picked up an 00 PY ITR from my shop guy here in Houston, TX. I'm stationed in Charleston, SC at the moment, so I have not seen the car in person, but I had my brother go check it out for me.

I was anxious to know what production number I had so I asked him (brother) to text me the badge number, which he did. After talking to my shop guy the other day he told me the vehicle is a 2000 model not an 01. That instantly set off a red flag and found out the following...

The badge number my brother gave me came up as a STOLEN NBP ITR! ... here is the thread from the original owner who owned 989: https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-type-r-8/stolen%2A%2A%2A%2A%2A%2A%2A%2A01-nhbp-989-a-1916286/

Not only was it stolen in the same city, but also from the same region/area I live at back home. This really makes me sick that somehow that armrest ended up into this car. I wonder how long it's been passed around, and no one bothered to check.

I don't even think the owner posts on here anymore. I wanted to contact him and see if he wanted his armrest back. The thought of driving around with a stolen ITR badge/armrest makes me sick/angry. If my car got stolen I wouldn't want my parts on someone elses ride, which unfortunately happens often and people don't even know.

Any thoughts/advice/help would be appreciated it. Also is there anyway to find out my production number by the VIN? Thanks in advance and RIP 989

Doespike would definitely be your best bet with a 2000/2001. If he doesn't respond here, try him on itrexpo (ITRCA). Sorry to hear about this

damn i'd be pretty bummed about that. Makes you wonder what else is fishy on the car, at first glance i immediately thought of this poor thing...http://hondamarketplace.com/showthread.php?t=2702657

not sure if that was ever found, same area too.

Just wondering what shop did you get this car from. I was actually offered a RHD 01 PY on houston-imports but was actually to late to buy it. This was back in the begining of July and since then I have heard a few things shaddy about that shop. What really upsets me is that my 98 ITR was stolen in the begining of this year and I hear that the guys at that shop are known for that. Would really hate to find out that they had something to do with the disaperance of my car.

Really? wow ... Houston Auto Development is the shop I go to. I doubt that's the shop you're talking about, they are well know shop and sponsor on H-I. Honest/hardworking people. Please fill us in or at least me on what's up. Sorry to hear about your loss.

I owned this car at some point. When I bought it on here the car had a Turbo Kit. I bought it for resale so I never added any parts to the car. It pretty much came with that interior etc.

The person I bought it from was REALLY shady. And I spent a lot of money fixing the title since it was a Pink Salvage title and it was signed and dated 4 year's prior to me buying it. Lots of paper work and phone calls had to be made to track the insurance company that still had the real title.

Suck's it turns out the interior was stolen. Not sure if after I had it the interior was swapped out. I don't recall the arm rest number though.

I traded it to a guy in Austin for a Mk4 Supra. He had it for a while then sold it to a friend who then sold it to some shop in Houston. So needless to say the car has been whored around quite a bit.

One thing that suck's is that even though its been passed around the damn car was still under my name!!!

Good luck with the car. Hope it finally found a good home. Also just if your wondering when it was sold to the guy in Houston it sold for 7,000.00 cash with the turbo kit and everything.

I recently acquired this car. Any info on it for the Badge Number would be awesome, I wouldn't mind knowing the real number. And I'm sick to see I own the car and some parts are stolen on it? It's not bad, Needs some love for sure and had a lot more things wrong with it then i thought. Nothing big, Just a punch of little stuff, But once I'm done it'll be 100%
