Y7/Y8 Mini Me swap questions
Ok my d16y8 motor just popped, (rod knock). I have a y7 that i was going to throw in with my y8 head, my car is already wired for the y8 with a p2p ecu. Would this just pretty much be a plug and play swap? i was told i needed to put the distributor of the y8 on the y7, and a new timing belt, and head gasket, after that is it just a plug and play type deal since everything would already be there?? im also throwing my skunk2 intake manifold, and IACV from the y8 on the y7. any help is appreciated!!!!!

should be. i cant think of anything else you're missing. just make sure to actually wire up the vtec solenoid so you're not like the other 30 million ppl who post on here saying: my car aint got no vteczz yo. what the problem is? lol
ok so the vtec wire isnt already there and ran ? cause i just pulled the y8 out of my car, not trying to sound like a dumbass but this is my first swap so im still trying to learn lol
nah, you dont sound like a dumbass man. and even if you did, im still not a douche like some people on here so i wouldnt say anything rude lol. use the search bar up top and look up mini me swap. there's an in depth thread about everything you're gonna need and have to do to get it running right.
that'll be alot more beneficial to you than i'll be haha.

Yeah if you are just swapping blocks its a no brainer. The Y7 and Y8 blocks are essentially identical. Just make sure to swap over the knock sensor from the Y8 block to the Y7. Other than that its a cakewalk.
