Fuel fill door opener broken
My fuel fill lid stopped working from the opener next to the drivers seat and I've been opening the lid through the side of the trunk. Is replacing the whole cable my only option or can I connect something else onto it? The issue is the disconnection on the far left of the picture. The plastic piece is supposed to be held by the rusty piece but has broken off. Trunk opens fine but to open the gas lid the cable needs to be pushed (towards the left) but also needs to be held in place while its being pushed and since that bond is broken..... I dont know what to do... Maybe super glue is an option.
Replacing the cable is a bit of a pain. Luckily the dealership replaced mine when I first bought the car.
You could try this: http://fueldoorfix.com/

I replaced my Cable as mine rusted and snapped, so the fix wouldnt work, you gonna remove some kick panels and the side cushion in the back seat, i had the old cable removed and new one back in with everything put back together in about a hour. really wasnt that hard.
Cable cost about $90 from the dealer.

I have run many wires for speakers / amps and such to the back, and it really isn't hard, but a bit of a PITA. For the $20 to just fix it at the connection (even though you couldn't) opposed to the $90 and labor, I'm going with the fuel door fix. :right click / save:
Thanks guys. I ordered the www.fueldoorfix.com one. $22.54CAD with tax. The guy that invented it must be making crazy profit off of it. cost to make one is probably less than a dollar.
I was also considering doing something similar to this but I don't have the tools and material handy:

But if the fix will work for you, by all means go for it.
