d16z6 head gasket help plz
Hi so im currently prepairing to replace my head gasket on my 94 civic. so ive been researching and recently purchased a Haynes Manual.. now i found that some people dont dissasemble the rocker arm and camshaft.. but reading the haynes manual it says that i should dissasemble the rocker arm and camshaft.. Any who possibly has change a head gasket know if this step is needed..
Also ive seen a video on you tube where a old man ignores does steps and jus takes the head off.
Heres the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRbrV...feature=fvwrel
So let me know what u think.

i recently did a headgasket on a d16z you can remove the head without removing the rockers/camshaft but you have to remove the the rockers/cams IF you were to resurface the head.
If your skilled a HG should take u a hour and a half on a SOHC motor...maybe less if your awesome. disconnect the the header and intake manifold (id buy a replacement gasket for the intake manifold 5 bucks at pep boys) mark the time belt and cam gear remove the head studs and pull the head off. you may need a razor if the gasket is stuck on the old cyclinder head
you wont be able to tell if its warped just by looking at it. it needs to be checked with a straight edge and a feeler gauge. this is very easily done, given the tools.
