should i just put a heli coil in there or should i tap it for a bigger hole and drill the mount for the same size as the bolt?
ive heli coiled them in the past. i once took the mount to a machine shop to get it drilled out for a larger bolt but they couldnt do it im guessing its hardend.

exactly^ thats the issue i was having with the shop i went to, they said to get a carbide bit. but every dam place i went to only had em for masonry.
this is what ive decided to do, i have my holes tapped for a 1/2 by 13 grade 8 bolt. im going to have my shop machine a portion of it off to 7/16's and then re-thread it. almost like an arp bolt but cheaper. i believe it will work because its pretty much the same aspect as using a regular bolt, but only its a stud with a washer and bolt instead.
