Okay guys, My crx dx seats were shot.... I picked up a pair of seats from a 90 civic si hatch.... I know that I must use the crx pan and rails.... But there is a problem that I'm hoping you guys can help me with... Instead of totally trying to explain it, I will use pics to help me! Here is the civic seat pan, look at the mount with the circle around it....
The crx seat has its mount on the outside of the seat... Leaving me to believe that I must use the crx backing as well..... There is a problem with this as well as the headrest width is also different! See picture! Feel free to ask for more explanation if I'm not being clear enough!

And I'm gonna tell you what you don't want to hear...
this isn't a direct swap.
custom rails needed, or cutting of the foam
even then, backrest won't be right...
you're better off using some DC integra seats and swapping the backrests.

 

You know, I'm not sure why the magical answer is always a seat pan swap if thats not really true all the time... I'm not going to harp on about that, but instead, lets get a little more technical about this... What seats should we not try to put into crx'es, and why not????

In this case, the side with the reclining mechanism seems to bolt back just fine (looks like with either the civic mechanism or the crx one.btw), but its the simple hinge side that is the problem!

Like I mentioned before, the car in question is a 91 crx dx... The seats here were from a 90 civic si hatch.... So are there any other seats I would not want to try to put in my rex, and for what reason??? Lets get a little specific about this because its my experience that people are not clear when talking about EF's in particular... The common consensus seems to be that if you do the swap you can then use anything... That dimension seems to be the only real threat to whether a seat is a good fit or not... So lets make our own contribution to the mis-information out there on the net!
