6th gen cluster in a 7th gen?
just wondering if its possible to install a gauge cluster from a 6th gen civic sir into a 7th gen dx 4dr? i have this cluster and plugs on hand and am sick of not having rpm.
not sure if u read my origonal post but i already have the cluster and plugs and could install today. all i need to know is the wiring and i could probably figure it out myself. just would mean buying 2 haynes manuals
also the 03-05 cluster from an autowrecker is 100$ here from a scrapped civic, and thats $ i dont feel like spending(especially when i can get a dc5 cluster for $125)
but the dc5 cluster has a gap at the bottom when installed, also u have to repin the 03-05 cluster anyway

i would check on signal type. i believe the 01 up civics are a halls effec sensor that is not direcly compatible with the anolog pulse sensor(01 teg down and 00 civic down). you would be better of sourcing a pilot, crv, accord, tl, cl, civic 02 and up

It probably won't work, but you'd be the first (that I know of) to try it.
It also isn't going to fit correctly, and you're going to have to re-pin it. Your point of the RSX cluster having a gap, and having to re-pin the 03-05 clusters are the same problems you're going to face with the cluster you have now.
IMO, you should sell the cluster you have and buy something that has been done before and will actually work. (Civic, RSX, S2000)
There will be issues with the mileometer accuracy on the vehicle. If you swap over to the 6th generation cluster, you will lose your "accurate miles" listing on the vehicle's title. The car will lose value overall. If you save a few bucks for a little while, you'll be able to afford an 01-05 cluster with a tachometer in no time, and you can get it legally updated to the proper mileage at a Honda dealership.
