Default E-brake locked even with handle down...

How do I go about unlocking the E-brake? Like a noob the car has been sitting out and I completely forgot to just leave the E-brake off and chock the wheels. Its been sitting for weeks now.

It is a drum brake and I have the parking brake handle down completely but the car won't move. Its definitely locked tight in the drums.

Then pull the drums off and inspect it.

you cant pull the drums off if the ebrake is locked... theres an adjust on the ebrake hangle you can try or your going to have to pull the wheel off and beat on the drum with a heavy hammer and hope it brakes free... Or play with the star adjuster or alittle of everything

Bleed some fluid out of it and see if it releases some of the pressure.

Take off the rear wheels and use a rubber mallet to scoot the drums back and forth. If the handle is down, it's either the cables holding it, or the shoes are corroded into the drums. Or get someone to tow you a few feet to break them loose.

Yea I took my crow bar and smacked the drum free. Took a couple of good bashings but now it broke free. Now its good to go! I got new problems now which I'll post a new thread on.
