Are my pistons and rings good or bad?
Hey guys, I did the dpfi to mpfi swap, and I recently started running on three cylinders and had carbon on the bottom of ONE of my spark plugs. I was also getting code 16 (Fuel injectors.) I was told my car was running rich. I'm burning raw fuel, and smell it inside my valve cover and on the dipstick. So I removed the head from the block to see if my pistons were bad, I can't tell. The two on the far left and right are spotless (maybe the raw fuel cleaned em off IDK. The two in the center are black (left side is black and goldish yellow, possibly not detonating.) Anyways, If it is just the head that's harmed, I found a JDM D15b sohc nonvtec head to replace my current head. I would just like to know if you guys could tell if my pistons/rings were harmed or if I could still use them. Thanks for your replys, Aaron.
P.S. I cant figure out how to add the pic of them on this site for a better diagnoses.

No blow by, Just smell raw fuel out of the exaust. doesnt smoke, if it does it's really light. except my tail pipe is black on the inside and the smell is strong. Also when it warms up, smoke comes out from behind the exaust mani, and it is also really strong. almost burns my eyes just standing near it. I was told the Head gasket was bad.
Didn't you verify all the injectors were working by unplugging them one at a time while the engine was running to try and isolate one that was not working before pulling the head to look for mechanical damage?
You could have had a broken injector wire. Electrical issues need to be worked out before looking into a mechanical problem especially if you're getting an engine lite.
If piston damage is not visible from the top you'll have to pull a piston& rod to check for ring land damage.
