Default what type of ecu

i just got a integra 4 dr, only it is auto. (oh well, cant complain if my parents bought it). anywayz, i want to turn it into a LS-VTEC and im wondering what type of ecu i can run and if i can use a VTEC comtroler to change the redline and the rpm were the VTEC kiks in. any suggestions will be helpful. peace out

You can use a GSR ecu. And yes, you can use a VTEC contoler like an APE'X i VAFC to change your VTEC engagement point.

he cannot use a gsr ecu if his car is automatic

i dont even think an automatic ls/vtec is possible. im probably wrong tho

i have heard rumors of an automatic gs-r in japan. i dont know if this is true tho.
but if it isnt you need to do a whole auto to stick change over in order to do ls-vtec.
it might be possible to just run with a v-afc cus all you really need is something to kick in the vtec. just gotta tune everything right. oh yea youll redline at 7200rpm too, which probably wont happen cus auto has crappy gearing.

actually there is an auto gsr in japan. that ecu would be super hard to find tho

there are gsr's in automatic but it has to be custom ordered, which costs extra

There was a shop here in S. Cali who had a auto red integra that had ls/vtec. I think the best it ran in the quarter was 14 seconds. Only if I can find pics and the info. I'll try to find it but don't hold me to it if I don't.

if he was set on keping it auto he could use an LS transmission [which gears are close to the ones used in automatic VTEC motors] then get an LS ecu and either chip it or thrown in a VTEC controller to actiate VTEC. but i would rather convert to stick, thats wat im doing right now.
