Icon2 how can i tune my exhaust

so i've got a 97 lx and i just put new header on it, i already had an axle back exhaust on it and i'm not liking the sound between 3000-4000 it sounds rice'y and it crackles and such. what should i do i'm looking for a deeper more throughty sound, thanks (p.s. im thinking of a cat back exhaust with a twin loop is that the right way to go?)

do you have a cat and resonators?
if not i'd start there. it'll be cheaper and easier.

otherwise. make your own.
unless performance isn't an issue then ws2.

Are you saying that you have an after market muffer on the stock OEM mid pipe?

yes removing the cat will not pass emissions your cat is on the header itself on the LX i know cause i have thesame car and i had to get a Universal cat welded onto my car but your exhaust does nothing for you and it will not increase power on a stock Y7

I would disagree with those saying to get a WS2. I personally dislike the sound of that exhaust. I have a Spoon Sports axle back and absolutely love it. I think it's actually quieter than stock and it's definitely quieter than my air box. I get complimented on the sound of my car often.

so im running without a catalytic converter now no wonder my car is driving way different i put both the sensors on the header but they're probably both telling the comp. its running rich....i got an idea where to put it but do you know what the thing is that's farther down the exhaust, between the head and the muffler? it looks kinda like another muffler or something

its number 7 on the diagram below

get a muffler shop to run 2 1/4" piping all the way. thatll give it a deeper sound. also keep the resonator if you can.

you ask the muffler shop to put a bung into your piping and put the o2 sensor after the cat thats what they did for mine idk why ebay headers have 2 o2 sensors ont he manifold itsself...

dude ive been running my car without the secondary o2 sensor for 2 years without any problem. its not that big of a deal. you need to go to a junkyard and find a stock exhaust manifold out of a 96-00 non-vtec. the exhaust manifold aint that hard to install man. just takes a ratchet and a couple of sockets. THEN get the muffler shop to run the piping. it shouldnt be that expensive.
