Default 1989 crx with b16 wired obd1 need help!

Hi all,

I have a project car I have been working on for awhile its a 1989 crx originally I had put a b16a2 in and it was wired from obd2 to obd1 on the motor and ecu harness from obd0-obd1. ( a friend did the wiring) I had the original swap running and the intake cam siezed on me. so I purchased a new swap, turns out I believe this is a b16a1 due to no crank sensor on the block. is there any reason that my original conversion would cause this motor to not get spark? I was shocked by the dizzy yesterday so I thought it was getting spark but it isn't sparking at the plugs. any troubleshooting ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot,
Brandon

I also am getting fuel. I replaced main relay hoping that it was the issue... after initial install I had no fuel or spark, now just no spark. check engine light comes on and stays on unless I start cranking for a few seconds. then it starts flashing... very irregular flashing, not throwing ecu codes off the chk eng light like I believe most obd2 ecu's would.

Well if you are getting spark at the distributor, pull off a spark plug wire and see if you are getting spark through each of the wires. Then if you are, pull out a spark plug place it into the spark plug wire and have someone turn over the car and make sure you get spark at the plug.

I check for spark at the wire by putting a screw driver in the plug wire end and touching it to metal like where the hood latch is.

Also if you got shocked by the distributor, you may have a crack in the cap unless you pulled off a wire and stuck your finger in the hole.

I got shocked at the ignitor, I had the cap off to mount the rotor on the dizzy, just accidentally touched the ignitor when looking at the rotor. other than that I tried spark plug on the wire but no spark. thanks for the timely reply.

well if the spark is getting to the ignitor it could be geting lost in cap or rotor. Maybe the plugs or wires but its not likely that all four would go out causing a no start.

Can a base crx harness be pinned to match SI dash? Most plugs match but no dash power. anyone have a link to a repin if so?
