Default Headlights flicker/SRS light flashes on and off while driving

alright guys, here's the deal. about a year ago the dimmer switch for my gauge cluster went out and i replaced it. a few months later the headlights, and cluster lights started flickering while im driving with them on, as well as the srs light flashing on and off a few times every minute. the funny thing is that they dont always do it, only on certain days.

i would really appreciate any input anyone has on the subject. i know i've been kind of vague, but i've checked the dimmer's connection and after that im not really sure where to go. its not really hurting anything more than its annoying the hell out of me and making me a magnet for cops.

so any input would be appreciated. thanks guys.

Hate to say it but with any kind of decent Amp the weak oem honda alts cant seem to hang. Look into getting yours beefed up at a local rebuilder or buy a new higher amp one.

and theres the answer i wanted to hear. thank you buddy. im thinkin about just buying a separate battery to run my system off of. that way i dont keep killing alternators.

Just in case you're not aware, if you do that, you'll have to manually charge that battery with an external battery charger otherwise you'll be no better off than where you started. Also you don't want to have two batteries in a car in parallel since they'll have a tendency to discharge each other.

He can get a battery isolator from any auto parts store, also rv shops sell them for the 12v crowd.

He is 100% correct though the one will draw from the other the whole time and soon enough you will burn another alternator just trying to revive 1 of the batteries, I cannot stress enough that over and above a NEW heavy duty alternator a BIG 3 UPGRADE would help the longevity of your charging system, google or HT-search BIG 3 UPGRADE, if I wasnt working id search for ya but I can only ht for so long without getting caught.

Curious did you ever solve this issue? I have a 2000 ex every light flickers and occasionally the srs light comes on. I've tested and had the alternator tested its fine. I do have an amp but it started before the amp was every connected so I'm just curious I've had someone mention a few fuel sensors but I seriously don't see how that could do it.
