i recently bought a 92 civic si hatch. i pulled the motor out to be rebuilt. this hatch wasnt running when i got it in fact the prev owner had the motor in pieces. well i cant get the fuel pump to prime when the key is turned. ive replaced the main relay and still nothing. ive jumped the pump directly to the battery and it comes on. ive also jumped pins 5 and 7 on the relay wiring plug and after doing this the pump comes on after the key is turned. ecu is plugged in and works. i had it in another hatch of mine. what else is there to test?

 

maybe a bad/wrong relay since you jumped the pins and it worked

 

i did notice that the relay makes no clicks when i turn the key but the plug is indeed getting power. so i may have to try a diff relay

 

Sounds.....like the relay as sowellman88011 stated, along with your no clicks symptom

 

Does the fuel pump run if you jump 1-7 in the main relay plug?

 

indeed it does. i tried this relay in a friends 94 civic. no diice..it was dead. plugged his back in and his car started. looks like i need yet another relay

 

Did you check/clean the ground wires on the thermostat housing?

 

Ah, the Honda Main Relay. A bastion of reliability and long life!

At least it's an easy fix.
