Icon2 1991 civic DX hatchback no start/no restart

Hi All,

This just started in the high heat we are having now in Michigan (100 deg's), car starts and runs when cold but when sitting in the heat when I try to start engine starts and spatters a few seconds and then engine stops. At this point it needs to sit for about an hour before it will fire again.

I pulled the main relay and checked it for bad solder and not finding any bad I still resweated all solder points, which didn't help.

I smell gas fumes like it's flooded, yet I don't push the gas peddle and it's not firing like I said for about an hour???

Oh, when started it seems to run just fine so I'm befuddled what to check next?

Is it normal to flood, I thought this was controlled not to do so by the fuel injection system?

Please give me your input, I'm just a poor driver of Honda's.

As I see this is all over the place, email if it will help. lol

Thanks,
Jim
