Front lower control arm bolt issue 93 EJ1
Ok so the front inner bushing on the driver side is shot all to hell causing my car to sway when it shifts. I went and bought a new bushing then went to install it. When I tried to take the bolt out, it just kept spinning and spinning, so I looked for the back of it to throw a box end on the other side figuring the nut on the other side was spinning only to find nothing but boxed frame..... My question is was the area that this bolt threads into originally welded to the frame inside of it? Im thinking it was and the weld on the nut/whatever that bolt threads into has broken which is why its just free spinning and not coming out.
i just bought another frame for cheap...but was a bitch to take everything off. but it gave me a chance to buy new bushings and clean/paint things up..Hope u get it taken care of.
a small hole saw works pretty nice in that situation, make 3 holes that all partially overlap to make one slot you can get a wrench in.
i really hate to wake up a dead post but i am having the same problem and was wondering about the hole with the rubber plug(on the bottom) of that part of the frame. Could you drill that hole a tad larger and place it up by the hole with a wrench and tighten?

Actually I just borrowed my uncles welder and the hole was just big enough to sneak the nozzle up in there and throw a few beads on it to hold it in place. However hypothetically you could do as 94EG8 said and overlap a few hole saw holes to give you access.
I used a magnet off my little snap on pocket screw driver to pick up the nut inside the cross-member after it fell off. Pry against the bolt if it spins in place. Its happened to me on a few cars, small magnet never failed me.
I am actually certified in tig mig and stick but do not own a welder ha yeah pretty strange i know but ill just use a bit and make a hole large enough and do that I might tack it later with a stick or mig when I purchase or have access to one, I just need to get this hatch finished.
