z6 block with a crx si tranny
Sorry, didn't see you had the VFAC... that will make VTEC work...
As far as you getting a Z6 tranny, you will need to convert the tranny to cable or convert your hatchback to Hydraulic... the SI tranny is the best to use, cheap and easy.

could i use a z6 motor with my crx si tranny and the crx si ecu/vfac for now untill i can get a p28 and z6 tranny?
He's right, the Z6 tranny will not fit into a 4g Civic/CRX.
There are 2 reasons why:
1 - The Z6 tranny's mounts are in slightly different locations v.s. the Si tranny mount locations.
2 - It's a hydro activated tranny, while the Si is a cable.
Reason #2 can be worked around. But reason #1 can't, unless you've got some good ideas for relocating the mounts.
Now even if you did fit the Z6 tranny inside your car - will the Z6 axles fit? I don't know.
Stick with the 89-91 Si tranny - it's lighter than the Z6 anyway, and I think it's geared a little bit better.

you can use the si trans. I myself sell and use the pm6 with the Zdyne program for sohc vtec. this has worked well and is real clean looking. i sell the ecu for program for 320.00 and need your core. facturing all the effort and price of a P28 it would come out to near the same. also chipped PM6's with activated switches can develop problems.
Damn bro, I have a friend with a mini me, with just I/H/E, AFC and he runs a 14.7 with the Y8 head... do you have any quarter mile slips you can post so we can see where your problem is.
