If your on a budget id just boost a d series... I have a b16 in my eg coupe and my room mate has a half assed vitara build with a cx trans (80mph in 2nd) and he blows my doors off when he finally gets into boost. Im currently looking to go boost and as soon as i find a d16z6 to rebuild im putting my b16 up for sale.

B18A/B aren't a huge deal to blow either. I'll always love the B series. More expensive, but more low end power is more fun to me even though the Ds are good boosted.

I have both a boosted d and a boost b18b... I like the B alittle more for DD I just run it on stock internals makes 300whp and has a ton of TQ , but I like the D up top cause it has 440whp... You can pick up a compleat B18b swap here for like 500... you can part together a turbo kit for about 800 bucks(dsm440) and hondata for 500... I have seen Vitaras Melt or crack under DD action many times... You get what you pay for and I recomend you get FJ rods other wish you will have like 7.5 or 8 to one compression with eagle rods

So if you compare
a D16z6.. D rods and pistons 600, plus cost of the D16z6 (300 to 400 bucks)
B18b1 Compleat swap (500 to 600) and just leave stock (maybe some ARP rod bolts 90 bucks or so)

So the B is cheaper to boost cause you have to add 800 turbo set up and 500 for hondata on both motors.

I have seen B18b1 hold 400whp DD but I wouldnt go more then 350 personally

I have 5 cars almost all built
1992 integra gsr B17 built 375whp
1994 Civic D16z6 440 whp
1995 civic B18b1 300 whp
1998 prelude H22a4 making 680 whp
2002 Suburban 5.3L making 380 whp and 450Tq (supercharged

Quite the stable you got there. I bet that prelude is hella fun to drive.
