EM2 timing belt replacement, now it runs rough...
Hey,
got a 02 EM2, D17a2, 175,000ish miles...
I had the timing belt go out as i pulled in to get some gas... it was good timing... got it home and replaced the belt and the h2o pump. started it up for after all the heart surgery, and I have an odd knocking/ ticking from the valve train. It runs fine until the engine warms up, once it gets warm it runs like a brick, kinda sounds like a Subaru with U/E headers... it runs really rough.
now, i know the first thing y'all wanna say is that the timing is off, that's the first thing i checked, and it looks dead on... so my concern is somewhere else.
the check engine light says there is a misfire on all 4 cylinders, and a P1298 code, that is resolved from an O2 sensor or the ELD....
just kinda lost and i would prefer not to tear the side of the engine down again...
any suggestions?
