Hi

My apologies for posting here but i could not find any forums for Odyssey.

My van has developed the following AC problem.

One day the AC just stopped. Fan turned off.
Since then it only turns on in Auto mode with the temperature controller set to either max cold or max hot and the fan controller at auto.
But it does not cool.

However, since this happened, about half a dozen time cooling has suddenly started working until i switch the engine off. I havenot been able to figure out any pattern except i think it happens when the van has been left under the sun for 7-8 hours ...

When the cooling starts working, all the controllers dial work as they should but when the cooling is not working then the fans stop when i move the temperature dial to anywhere except the two ends. Same thing with the fan speed dial. Fans stop if i turn the dial to anywhere in the midddle.


Any idea what could be causing it ?

My mechanic replaced the controller panel saying it was bad but that did not fix it. I don't think he has any idea what to do. So before i go to another mechanic i thought i'd ask it here and maybe have a couple of leads /scenarios to present to the mechanic to check.
