f22a4 and jdm f22a timing belt cover problems
ok the old f22a4(200k miles) has a problem where the alternator belt has rubbed against the timing belt cover and made a hole. i just ignored it since i was gonna replace the engine anyways. the new engine jdm f22a(30-40k miles from tiger) seems to have the same mark on the lower timing belt cover. also the crank pulley seems to have worn into the cover as well.
i have read many other people have this problem but have not seen a definite fix. is the crank pulley on too far? timing belt cover was not installed correctly?
plan to do a full timing belt service since it was obviously run with the whole in the cover

There is suppose to be a "seal or washer" behind the tension adjusting bolt-between the cover and the bolt-outside of the cover. Bet yours is gone.......with heat and time without this "seal" the cover will warp. Last time I did the tbelt on the 95 I put an e-clip on there instead of that rubber seal.
just ordered a new timing belt cover with seals. not sure of where this bolt is you are describing but ill go try and figure it out
