best ride for a del sol

What other suspension upgrades have you done to the suspension?
Shocks, springs? Bushings? And the biggest of all tires! All of that is a complete waste if you can't get it to the ground.
Stiff suspension isn't going to just "fix" wheel hop.
You need traction bars like grumble said.
As has been said, investing in a really good set of summer tires would be wise. I just got some Yokohama S. Drives, phenomenal tire for the money. Easily one of the best, if not the best summer tire. Very well balanced daily driving tire.
Budget and goals for the car are very important. With a 290hp car I'd hope your budget is bigger than tossing cheap/fake/Taiwanese products on your car.
