00 si whistle noise at start up..

My 00 Si makes a whistling noise when I start it up, usually in the morning. Was wondering what's causing this and if it's harmful.

does this car have an intake? might be when it's cold the engine is reving a little higher and the sounds is coming from the intake.

Why don't you pop the hood, start the car and go stick your head in there and try to pinpoint the source of the noise? With just guessing I'd say it's a belt.

Funny you mention. My 00si does the same thing. I believe it's the alternator bearings. I've messed with the PS pump and A/C belts already.
